How to Cut Baby's Finger nails

If you have been worried on cutting your baby's finger nails, don't worry you are not alone. I myself was afraid to do the cutting of my son's finger nails when he was so tiny. I was afraid of cutting not only the nails but the skin as well. And so I maid a research on how to properly and safely cut a baby's finger nails.

Here are some tips on cutting baby’s fingernails
  1. Make sure that both of you, you and your baby is on a safe and secure position.
  2. To cut finger nails, start by hold your baby’s hand. Take his finger and softly press down the skin on his finger tips so that there will be a gap between the nail and the finger.
  3. Then, carefully insert the nail cutter to the small gap between the nail and the finger. Make sure that the entire nail is in the nail cutter. Do not  press the cutter unless you are sure that there is no skin inside the cutter.
  4. Make sure that the baby does not move or properly positioned to avoid accidents. It safe to do the cutting when your baby is sleeping. Just do the process gently to avoid disturbing baby’s sleep.
I hope this help. Cut your baby's finger nails safely!

What is BCG Vaccine

For first time moms, it is important to that your baby should have a BCG Vaccine.

What is BCG Vaccine?
Wikipedia define BCG or Bacillus Calmette-Guerin as a vaccine against tuberculosis that is prepared from a strain of the attenuated live bovine tuberculosis bacillus, Mycobacterium bovis, that has lost its virulence in humans by being specially cultured in an artificial medium for years.

Is BCG Vaccine Effective?
The degree of effectiveness of BCG vaccine varies from 0-80% where it is given right after birth or before reaching 1 year old. However the vaccine cannot prevent contagious tuberculosis disease in adult as the vaccine is intended to prevent disseminated form of tuberculosis in children.

It was recommended by the World Health Organization that BCG vaccine be compulsory in countries where tuberculosis is endemic as well as suggested that BCG should be given to all children at birth with standard childhood immunization.

Keep your child protected from Tuberculosis by giving him BCG Vaccine at birth.
